DUI Risk Classifications

In Illinois you must complete a DUI – Alcohol and Drug Evaluation Uniform Report if you receive a DUI/drug or alcohol related Summary Suspension. This is a Department of Human Services-Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR) diagnostic tool which assigns you a risk level and recommends substance abuse education and/or treatment. The offender will fall under one of these risk levels.

  • Minimal Risk - Requires 10 hours of DRE (Drivers Risk Education)
  • Moderate Risk - Requires 10 hours of DRE and 12 hours of “Early Intervention Services”
  • Significant Risk - Requires 10 hours of DRE and a minimum of 20 hours of “treatment”
  • High Risk (Dependent or Non-Dependent) - Requires 75 hours of “treatment”

If you or a person you know receives a DUI or has substance abuse issues, please do not delay in contacting Hopewell Clinical. Scheduling an assessment/evaluation is the first step in overcoming a drug or alcohol problem. This demonstration of personal accountability, and readiness to change is always looked upon favorably by the criminal justice system and hoped for by significant others in that person's life. A treatment recommendation will be made at the time of the assessment/evaluation.
